Rasa Ruzgys LPC, CADC
I tend to join with my clients and build rapport first, as I believe that a therapeutic relationship needs to be created before meaningful work can be accomplished. I see myself as a partner to my client’s journey as I provide support and therapeutic tools to address whatever stressors the client is having. I am empathetic, non-judgmental, and culturally sensitive, as I’m bilingual in English and Lithuanian. I believe that through empowerment and increased self-awareness a client can achieve their goals in counseling with ease. My therapeutic styles include, but are not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Couples and Family Systems, and Trauma-Focused.
I graduated with my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Governor’s State University. I have been working with Addiction and Trauma with a variety of additional populations for some time, venturing out into mental health counseling as many of the issues and concerns clients face are interrelated. I have experience in working with adults, teens, children, couples and families in individual settings as well as in groups.
I am a mother of three extraordinary daughters that keep me on my feet most of the time. I enjoy being outdoors and staying active is what I enjoy the most. I love reading in the evenings when the household becomes quiet and shamelessly engage in reality tv for entertainment.
